Infection Control Program at al mokhtabar Laboratories

  • Safe lab practice is the most critical part of preventing exposure when working with hazardous materials. Without good work practices and adequate training, the best laboratory and safety equipment in the world cannot provide protection.
  • As such, at al mokhtabar labs we apply an infection control program that is published by an Infection Control Committee.

An Infection Control Committee provides a forum for multidisciplinary input, cooperation, and information sharing. Al mokhtabar Infection Control Committee includes a wide representation from all units. The committee has a direct reporting relationship with the administration and medical staff to promote program visibility and effectiveness.

The committee is bound to the following tasks:

  • Review and approve a yearly program of activity for surveillance and prevention.
  • Review epidemiological surveillance data and identify areas for intervention.
  • Assess and promote improved practice at all levels of the laboratory units.
  • Ensure appropriate staff training in infection control and safety management, provision of safety materials such as personal protective equipment and products.
  • Training of laboratories' employees.
