Precautions and Preparation
  • Please inform the receptionist or physician if you have recently taken iron treatment or undergone a blood transfusion.
  • It is preferable to provide the first morning urine sample. Discard the first portion in the toilet and collect the remaining urine in the laboratory container.
  • Fast for 12-14 hours.
  • Please inform the physician whether or not you are taking medication for gout.
  • Fast for 6-8 hours, then eat breakfast. The test should be performed 2 hours after starting the meal. Continue taking your diabetes medications as prescribed.
  • Fasting for 6-8 hours is required; water is allowed.
  • Please inform the physician if you are taking any medications, as this may affect and elevate the test result.
  • Please inform the physician if you are pregnant or taking any medications, as this may affect and elevate the test result.
  • If you are taking blood-thinning medication, please inform the receptionist or physician of the medication name, dosage, and duration of use.
  • Please inform the receptionist or physician of the duration and dosage of any thyroid medications you are taking.

  • Please inform the physician if you are taking any medications for the prostate or have undergone any prostate surgery.
